New Apple Gear

For those of you who don't keep up with dates, today is September 5th. Traditionally, it is the day that Apple gives the consumers who love them more things to spend their money on.

One newsworthy mention is the the iPhone has been reduced to $399. That's actually pretty reasonable. Must have sucked o be one of the first to jump at it now. $200 to have the phone for ~2 months.

Anyway, the really good news is that there are three new iPods. I think the item of most interest to me in the group is the redone iPod Nano. It is not the "Phatty" that had made its way around the net, but it wasn't far off. The biggest innovation is the new iPod Touch. It's basically an iPhone without the ability to make calls. The classic was redone, but I don't have much interest in that remake. I loved the Classic iPod as much as everyone, but I like solid state memory more than massive space.

Of course, none of this will lead to a purchase for me since I just bought the new as of 8/30 Sony Ericsson W580i and I am anxiously awaiting the delivery as I type.

This phone is a decent mp3 player, FM radio, a track and field manager with pedometer, and loads of free games and ringtones to help with the cost of having the device. (Although it only costs $80 with contract)
