Not a Conservative Anymore!

The title of this post may come as a surprise to the readers who know me. Well, I just can't accept that stigma with the current Louisiana governor's election. Frankly, I am ready for a radical change, and if I have to shed the conservative label to get that, I'm ready.

Where did the blame lie for the problems after Hurricane Katrina? Apparently, Mayor Nagin showed that it couldn't have possibly been him. He successfully ran for his office as an incumbent post-Katrina. However, the most blame to me lies at the state level. I was very worried that all blame would be shifted to President Bush, FEMA, and the federal government. That would be ridiculous given spheres of influence and the examples of other areas of devastation. It is obvious that the state government showed its absolute incompetence during that time. Thank the Lord that Gov. Blanco knew she would not be able to shed her failures as governor and win another term.

Now that the failures of state government have been exposed, we as a state can take a look at Louisiana politics. The blatant corruption that we have put up with for so long doesn't seem as tolerable anymore. Kickbacks and social programs don't cut it. Two years and no levees despite an out of control budget don't cut it. For me there is only one viable solution: Bobby Jindal.

I have just returned home from the Bobby Jindal bus tour/rally at Washington parish courthouse.

The above picture was taken after one of the most electrifying speeches I've ever heard.
I literally could not stop smiling. This man knows what it will take and has the ability to follow through with the changes we need for Louisiana. He knows that we have the resources to become one of the best states in America, but are stuck at the bottom of virtually every comparative list because of the corruption and incompetence that we the voters have allowed to flourish here. The change that it will take to better our state and our lives is within reach. So I really hope that each and every person that reads this post will do a little research and show up to vote for this amazing politician. Frankly, Louisiana can't afford to miss out on his leadership.

It's time for a fresh start Louisiana! Read more about Bobby and his campaign at bobbyjindal.com. Also, I have designed a T-shirt that's available at my online store: teaseliberals.com.
